And a link to WowCrendor's perspective.
To the second link... welcome to blood bowl. Statistical improbability? Dice don't give a shit.
Bloodbowl where 1/216 happens every fucking time.
That was immediately followed by a double skull for AJ.
Which can be explained as "Karma, BEYOTCH! Laugh about 6-3 chances now!"
Nuffle was not pleased.
This is what happens when 2 people who know what they are doing play each other. Though, I was always yelling at my screen if Crendor was wasting time beating up zombies, or didn't have his saurus on the front lines.
Beating up zombies was kinda all he could do for the most part. With agility 1 he couldn't really do anything else.. Keeping some of the saurus in the back allows them to protect the skinks from say frenzying werewolves. More saurus on the front line means more saurus in a zombie's tackle zone.
Honestly, I liked Angry Joe this game. Not at the beginning, but defo past half the game he was entertaining. I usually don't like him, but yeah. This was a good game, both knew what they were doing, they were entertaining and it was defo tense. Best fight yet.
First Game I could watch without getting angry at one of the players. This is the bottom line of skill games should display - they both unterstand the rules ( hell, the whole bb rulebook is in the Game for a reason), basic concepts like tackle zones, risk management and block assists and still manage to make some highly entertaining mistakes. The shit chat was fun, the game was tense - this game was the first good match in the league.
i was getting angry at the misplays joe made, such as whining about the lack of two-dice blocks on the line of scrimmage when he could have easily made them happen by simple repositioning, as well as weird blitz usage in some places.
still, a very enjoyable game and great fun to watch!
Well, those things dont make me angry. He made some mistakes, yes, maybe is not 100% sure on some of the mechanics, but in the end, they both tried pretty hard. I mean, I am playing blood bowl for years now and still mess things up. He was a bit whiney at the beginning, but it was never as bad as Jessies whining about the "blitz into a cage with 4 dodgerolls into double red dice". He was a bit frustrated at first about the lizardmen, but it felt like he never got really pissed or anything. He just wanted to complain a bit, to get it out of his system and thats something blood bowl definitly does to you.
Just wanted to chime in on your point on the rule book being in the game. Keep in mind I have not played the game myself so I haven't seen the rule book. But, if it is anywhere near as long as a real sports game's rulebook, then you can't really blame someone for not understanding all of it (or even close to all of it) when they've never played before.
Again though, I haven't seen it myself so if it isn't very long and it's not a dull read or anything like that then disregard this comment :P.
Angry Joe isn't so much angry Joe as 'Unnecessarily Loud Joe'
I tend to enjoy Angry Joe's content, but damn was he obnoxious in this match.
I find alot of his content, especially his colonial marines review, to involve alot of audio clipping, which really annoys me.
Although it would probably take away from his 'angry' persona if he quietened down a bit :)
I hate how he tries to sound like some gangsta or whatever. So grating.
Yes, I like watching AngryJoe, too. At first the nerdrage got him, hehe, but he managed to come around quickly. He just gets easily excited. Which is entertaining. Crendor... I dont know, I cant shake the feeling that he is a disingenuous git.
So Im still waiting for the first opponent realizing that the way to counter lizards is to stomp their skinks. Hard. Into the ground. One-way ticket to rainbow-hell.
Crendor is certainly an odd personality to come to grips with. He does sound disingenuous, with his combination of strange humour and odd voice. However, having watched his content for a few months, and seen some live interviews, I have nothing but the highest regard for him. He doesn't seem to get angry at anyone and he always has a joke in a pinch.
And yes, stomp the skinks. I play Lizardmen and they are a bit BS, but stomp the skinks and they will fumble like the ball is butter coated in oil and the field is ice.
Ninja edit: Except you won't be able to hurt Lil' Skittles. Lil' Skittles is untouchable.
Joe is even in the best position to do it with frenzy movement 8 werewolves.
Crendor keeps leaving those guys on the sideline or near it. Knock those skinks off the field. The crowd will do the rest. A delicious bit of schaudenfraude when skittles is ripped apart by his adoring public :D
That's a lot of screaming. Meh.
