Thanks for the aero package thread, enjoy the debate. I am in the minority there but we all have opinions.

I personally feel like there seems to be a lack of etiquette when it comes to people putting titles in the posts. Maybe this is just nitpicking but I'll bite.

  1. People should not be putting their own opinions in the title when it's just a link to a source. Let the source speak for itself, if you wanna put your 2 cents, actually write it in the comments.

  2. When doing a link post, the title should not have specifics mentioned in that post that aren't already mentioned in the source title itself. Again, let the content of the source speak for itself.

  3. People need to check their damn spelling before hitting submit.

When doing a link post, the title should not have specifics mentioned in that post that aren't already mentioned in the source title itself.

If this means, for example, someone linking to a post talking about the new package without much detail, but the title says something like "this package will be used at X, Y, and Z races", without that being mentioned anywhere in the content of the link, that could fall under Rule #3 of making sure your title accurately represents the content you're linking to.

But muh autocorrect! /s

Any plans to change the Camping World Truck Series logo underneath the 2019 Driver Standings to the proper logo or if it can be done?

level 2

Good call. It was changed at the end of last season, but that part of the code comes from the Excel file, which I didn't think would have anything truck-series related in it, so it just changed right back after the first update of the year. Oops!

level 3

No worries, just saw the updated logo, everything looks nice and uniform, Thanks X!

I know it has gone down in the last couple of days, but can "on this day" posts be discouraged? It started pretty earnestly, but has devolved into just naming any time a driver with any sort of a following has won. Just a thought.

There’s always a mid February spike you’ll see from all the Daytona stuff. Then it’ll typically die off aside from bug things

I'm always on mobile so maybe this is already there and I just don't see it on my end, but is there any thought about adding the subreddit staff members to the "about this community" tab?

It seems like this could help a new member or help someone find the staff members username if they can't remember exactly how to spell it in case they need to get in touch with them. All I see is the green badge and text but that's not on every comment.

Should be an about section on top of the sub on mobile, scroll to the bottom and all the mods are listed

Nice to see the K&N Series added to the list of upcoming races on the sidebar!

Yes, but this is not the thread for it.

Alright can some mods address thi situation? I brought it up two weeks ago and was basically ignored while everyone else.got theirs answered. Why do some posts get randomly taken down with no explanation? They didnt break rules, they weren't reposts. Nothing. But the mods.took it down and didnt even bother to explain why. This has happened to me often and it.just happened again today. Not sure if this happens to anyone else.

To be clear to everyone else, nothing of yours has been removed so this comment doesn't seem to have anything to do with a post that was removed for violating a r/NASCAR rule.

To clarify the screenshot/post to the source rule, however, this rule typically only applies to newsworthy posts that could potentially be misinterpreted as a hoax. Simply posting a photo or artwork doesn't necessarily require a source.

level 3

No I took it down, razgrizzeroone had me thinking it was posted wrong but I think things are good now. I am just trying to be good around here :) I do struggle with posting sometimes but I think that may be reflective of my own paranoia.

This comment doesn't seem at all constructive. Leave the sarcasm out of it and try to discuss exactly what you think is wrong so that we can try to fix whatever it is that's bothering you, if possible. Otherwise, nothing can be done if you're just going to rant and complain about nothing specific.

That's a penalty. Too many fingers on the keyboard. Gonna have to do a log out and sign in this time. And people thought being a spokesman for Nascar was hard. I'd hate to be the one moderating this sub on Raceday

If you get abusive PMs from someone, report them to the admins so they can be dealt with as moderators can't do anything about PMs. There's a reason these messages are only sent via PMs. They're already taken care of within r/NASCAR. Posting about it publicly gives them the attention they want and doesn't help the situation.
