Survivor: Edge of Extinction | Episode 2 | Player of the Week Voting

On Thursdays, /r/Survivor crowdsources a Player of the Week, based on what happened during that Wednesday’s new episode. Below you will find a list of all the contestants in the episode.

For this season, players on Extinction Island are not eligible to be voted on. Should they return to the game, they will be made eligible again.

Upvote/downvote players you thought improved/hurt their odds this week.

Note that this thread is in contest mode for the first ~24 hours, so castaways may not appear in the order you expect.

So glad she didn't tell Wentworth about the idol. Definitely one of the best players right now.

As long as Kelley is in the game, Lauren is safe. She has a meat shield and an idol within a majority. Great spot right now.

level 3

I had the opposite reaction; as long as she's Kelley right hand gal, she will always be the safety vote if they want to take out Kelley but suspect Kelley to have an idol.

level 4

Her idol is key. If she's a safety vote she can replicate what happened with Kelley in SC and play her idol.

Major props for finding that idol, had to be a surreal moment for her. Also give her major props for not telling Kelley - we all thought she'd be throwing her game away for Kelley, but she's not. Imo, a huge contender for POTW! The ONLY thing I'm worried about is that her association with Kelley could get her targeted sooner rather than later. Such a great thing for her game that she found that idol.

level 2

Appears to be playing a nice UTR game and finding the idol is a big plus for her. Getting a very good edit for a longterm run.

Idol Queen - Yes!!!

First idol finder of the season is a woman, with no help from men, without telling anyone (even her other "idol") about it. I sense a "passing of the torch" storyline here.

Plus, she's like, way hot 🔥

I was impressed that she kept the idol a secret. It's good to know she's not just Kelley's puppy.

Whilst Eric is looking to Joe as a shield and Rick is looking to David as a shield, I low-key feel like Lauren is looking to Kelley as a shield. And it's working! Whilst I gave her criticism for being a target last week, this week no-one looked to her as a potential target and Kelley ended up staying, so Lauren is in a good place within the tribe. I feel like it's a bit ominous that no-one is telling her any potential blind-side plans, but it's early days and we haven't even hit a swap yet, so it's not the worst thing at this point.

And, of course, she critically found an idol! I was super pleased to hear that she decided not to tell Wentworth about it; it proves that she's playing this game for herself and not for the returnee, a common trap that newbies often fall in to. I really liked her this week. Should she and Wentworth go far, I think she could be a real threat. Up-vote.

Good episode for Lauren. She's proving herself early on so far/I like that she hid that idol only for herself and seems to be flowing well in the tribe/Kelly not going out is good for her. I still have concerns that her physical ability is going to cause problems down the line as becoming a big threat but for now she's looking pretty solid. I'd say she goes up this week for sure.

Great episode for her not only finding the idol but not telling anyone, hopefully she keeps it up.

Great work finding the Idol and even better work deciding to keep it a secret.

level 2

Good job finding the idol but I am a bit worried about burying it in wet sand... the camera lingered on it quite a bit.

level 3

That edit made me think she’s going to lose it.

It was great for Lauren that found the idol & I do think it's wise she's keeping it to herself at the moment she has it, but man I do think she needs to become a bit more aware what perception is around camp. If Wardog didn't convince Chris that Keith had to go first this episode could've been a very bag mixed for her by getting an idol, but likely losing her closest ally in the process (or losing the idol already the same round due to playing it on Wentworth)

Still, I'll give her an upvote. She found the idol & isn't considered a target at the moment, even if she was left in the outs of the potential Wentworth blindside.

level 2

I think on my opnion shes gonna be kellley's goat on FTC

level 3

Kelley might be her own goat the way she's being edited.

Correctly realised that voting out Kelley would be a terrible move for himself and was able to convince the people who mattered to stick with the initial plan. Easy upvote this week.

I think Wardog is player of the week. He pretty much shut down the Wentworth plan & got his Keith blindside through by making others feel like it was their idea. Despite that, he also seems aware that Wentworth likely won't have much loyalty towards him in the future, but he knows pulling a bigger shakeup of the pecking order right now only will hurt him should they lose again before a swap. So think Wardog is a pretty obvious upvote today.

Agreed. His argument made the most sense. He's pretty much the reason Keith went home and that makes the tribe and his position in the game stronger. Kudos to Wardog.

To my own surprise, I'm actually choosing WarDog for player of the week/to be honest I wasn't expecting to say that this season. The fact that he was individually looking at the big picture rather than the more easy path of going with whatever people want, and had ideas of Kelly being a shield which he sees in his plans as good for him and Keith a liability which isn't good for him and at the end of the day his plan comes out ahead. I gotta give the credit where it's due. While I was watching I felt most impressed by the WarDog in that episode and so that's where I'm going this week. I do see some potential negatives there in him taking this lead charge role but for this week it played out well for him.
